How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Pastor Andrew Pickens trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 12. He was led to the Lord by his youth pastor in Southern Maryland. After fully surrendering to the Lord in 2009, Brother Andrew began to thoroughly study the Word of God. He faithfully attended regular Bible studies and services at his local church. This is where his love for the Lord Jesus Christ and His Bible began and has only grown stronger over the years. After serving the Lord as a Youth Pastor for over five years, Brother Andrew was led by the Lord in 2017 to start a Bible believing work for some fellow Christians in need. During this time, the Lord burdened his heart to begin Bible School. In 2017, Brother Andrew began his correspondent studies through The Bible Doctrine Institute. For three full years, he studied the Word of God, completed his classes, all while holding a full-time job, leading a young family and ministering to God’s people. He finished and graduated from TBDI with his Bachelor's of Divinity in November 2020. The Lord gave clear direction to Pastor Andrew in the summer of 2019 to turn the Bible study, in which he had labored, into the Word of God Baptist Church. The first official service was June 23, 2019. 

Pastor Andrew currently resides in Oak Grove, Virginia with his wife, Jessica, their three children and dog. He works a full-time job as an estimator for a union sheet metal contractor. Along with studying God’s word, Brother Andrew loves to spend time with his family, hunt and fish.
